The Spooky Playdate

October 9, 2024 · In: Playdates

Spoiler alert, this playdate isn’t actually spooky but it is Halloween themed! Hosting a Halloween party? Kick off the playdate with our Halloween popsicle puzzles. Providing an activity at the beginning of a playdate is a great way to get the kids engaged. After all, we love an icebreaker.

October always seems to be one of the busiest months out of the year. There are so many local activities in the community, school events, Halloween playdates, etc. That’s why we are keeping this month’s playdate snack simple. Check it out below!

Directions

What You’ll Need:

  • The Peach Playdate ‘Halloween Popsicle Puzzle’ printable – FREE download below
  • Jumbo Wood Craft Sticks (aka jumbo popsicle sticks)
  • Scissors
  • Clear Tape
  • Box Cutter

Once you have the puzzle printed cut out each Halloween icon. Tape the icon over a set of popsicles laid in a row as shown in the picture below. Next take your box cutter and cut between each popsicle stick separating the image. Pull apart each popsicle stick and shuffle them up. Hand over to your kiddos and have them put the images back together.

Snack

As I mentioned above, October is a busy month and who has the time to make an extravagant snack plate. Let’s keep it easy with these Halloween pretzels, fruit snacks and ghost string cheese. All can be found at your local Costco.

For the ghost string cheese it’s pretty self explanatory. Take a sharpie and draw two eyes and a mouth on the cheese stick. That’s it! You can also do this with the clear cups of mandarin oranges to add some fruit to the board. Just draw a jack-o-lantern face on the cups opposed to a standard happy face. A fun treat for the kids!

I’m curious, do you host a Halloween party every year? Let us know in the comments.

Cheers!

Introducing: Trader Joe’s Mac-N-Cheese in a mini crockpot 🧀

I’m making this for 15 toddlers so they don’t need much. I buy 3 of the frozen Mac-n-cheese boxes, partially heat them in a microwave (for 3min), dump in a mini crockpot and plug in the crockpot at school. That’s it! Like I said, quick and easy 🙌🏼
