Holiday Hostess Gift Ideas

November 12, 2024 · In: Lifestyle

The holiday season is all about giving, and when you’re invited to celebrate with friends or family, bringing a thoughtful hostess gift is a great way to show your appreciation. Whether you’re attending a festive dinner party, a cozy gathering, or a holiday brunch, finding the perfect gift for your host can feel like a challenge. But fear not—there are plenty of creative and heartfelt options that will make a lasting impression without breaking the bank. In this post, we’ve rounded up some of the best hostess gift ideas for the holidays, from elegant to quirky, to suit any style and budget. So, get ready to spread some holiday cheer with the perfect token of gratitude!

From Anthropology

Dish Towels

While giving a bottle of wine is a great hostess gift in itself, you can spice it up with a dish towel wrapped around it. Cotton & Flax gives a great tutorial here! I like to buy single dish towels from Anthropology. They are on the pricier side so I will stock up during sales. Homegoods and Target are great options for a more economical towel.

The 4 pack of waffle dish towels is another great gift! Not only does it come in a storage basket, the colors are so fun! There are three different color schemes to choose from.

Juice Glass

These iconic juice glasses serve as the perfect hostess gift. Great for juice, cocktails or an ice coffee. The various designs available make it easy to find the perfect fit for your host!

Monogram Ornament

Gift the monogram ornament on its own or hang it over a bottle of wine. Or add it to your ribbon when wrapping a gift to add a little flare to your gift presentation.

The Cheese Board Deck

I have this book and love it! It’s a box with a deck of cards, each one with a meat and cheese board theme. It explains how to setup the board and what items to add to your grocery list. Truly the perfect hostess gift!

Cocktail Stirrers

A fun festive gift to give your hostess. The Christmas candy icons are great for the holidays. After all, it’s cocktail season!

From Target

Candle

Who doesn’t love a candle? There are so many holiday candles out at Target. I love the scalloped edge of this one!

Holiday Hand Towels

Holiday hand towels are another great, cost effective, hostess gift. Tie some green, red and white ribbon around them and you have a simple, economic hostess gift.

Mini Bowls

I love giving accent bowls as hostess gifts. They can be used to set out small bites for guests or on a charcuterie board filled with nuts, olives, jams, etc. These ones are festive but still neutral enough that they can be used year round.

Platter and Boards Book

Similar to the Cheese Board Deck from Anthropology, this book is also a great options for a hostess gift. Simply time some festive holiday robbon (like this) around the book and head out for your party. Simple and sweet.

Christmas Tin & Cookie Cutters

I love how this cookie tin comes with cookie cutters. Throw a gift bow on top and you’re set! The presentation is exquisite with minimal effort. Such a great last minute gift.

Pot Holders & Salad Serving Spoons

The hostess duo; pot holders and serving spoons! These plaid pot holders paired with the wooden spoons give a cozy holiday vibe. Show off its complimentary pattern and texture by leaving the gift unwrapped with a simple ribbon tied around it.

From Crate & Barrel

Dip Set

If you love to host chances are you love an organized dipping set. This one is simple, universal and best of all…on sale!

Holiday Juice Glass

Crate & Barrel is hopping on the viral juice glass trend. I love that they have holiday icons in their collection. Check out the link to see all options. Pair with a bottle of eggnog and you have a wonderful hostess gift.

Snowflake Coasters

A true hostess appreciates a coaster. Give them a fun holiday themed set of coasters as a thank you. A lovely gift on its own or paired with the hostess’ drink of choice.

Snowman Mug

I’m usually against gifting mugs (because do we really need more mugs?) but this snowman mug is so adorable! If you think your host can use a new mug check out this one!

Wine Stoppers

As you know by now we like to give a little something with a bottle of wine. These tree wine stoppers pair well with a bottle of vino for the hostess!

Snowman Vase

I love this snowman vase as a hostess gift! It’s unique and stands our from your typical gifts. Place some flowers in the vase and hand off for a special touch at the big event.

Keepsake Ornament

Make your gift personal with this keepsake ornament. Give it empty so the host can fill it with their favorite memory of the year or place a picture of the two of you for a sentimental touch.

Tree Salt & Pepper Shakers

Gift these adorable salt and pepper shakers to add a festive touch to the dinner table. There is a snowman and gnome shaker as well! A small and simple way to say thanks for having us.

Send the kids out in the yard to gather leafs or go on a neighborhood walk. Once you have enough leaves of various shapes, sizes and colors head back to the house to assemble. Start by making a face out of construction paper and googly eyes, glue the face on a clothespin and clasped your favorite leaves to the pin.

Introducing: Trader Joe’s Mac-N-Cheese in a mini crockpot 🧀

I’m making this for 15 toddlers so they don’t need much. I buy 3 of the frozen Mac-n-cheese boxes, partially heat them in a microwave (for 3min), dump in a mini crockpot and plug in the crockpot at school. That’s it! Like I said, quick and easy 🙌🏼
