It’s officially August which means it’s back to school month! Even though my three year old isn’t necessarily in school yet I still like to celebrate the month with all things BTS related.
The playdate this month is The Alphabet Playdate. We’ll have an alphabet themed activity to kick off the playdate and a themed snack to go with it.
Activity
How to Play
The goal of the game is to find all 26 red apples missing from the trees. Start by printing out the free printable linked below. Once printed, cut out all the red apples. Next, place the apples throughout the playroom or wherever you plan on playing. As the kids start to find the apples have them place the found apple on top of its matching letter on the tree.
This game can be played as a group where the kids work together to find all the apples or the kids can race to see who can find the most apples. Keep the game going and have several levels for them to complete; each level hiding the apples a little harder than the last.
Another way you can play this game is to place all the apples on items that start with that letter. For example, put the ‘C’ apple on the chair. This will help your kid practice what letter items start with. You may have to get creative with Q, X and Z!

Snack
Every playdate needs a snack! By now you know we like to keep it simple yet festive so we are making an alphabet snack mix. I got everything from Trader Joes. I went with the alphabet cookies, peanut butter pretzels and mini peanut butter cups. A salty sweet treat for the kids and parents. The peanut butter cups are SO good! Here’s how it turned out –
