Activities
‘All About Dad’ Printable
This has to be one of my favorite activities I’ve done with my 3 year old. He’s already at such a funny age and then to have him answer these questions, it’s so entertaining! I want to fill this out every year but at what age do they start answering them correctly and it’s no longer funny? Anyway, to do this activity all you need to do is print out our FREE ‘All About Dad’ printable found HERE, ask your child each question and fill in whatever they say. If you have more than one kid, print one off for each kid. Once all the answers are filled in write who’s it from, the date and give it to Dad on Father’s Day.
DIY Father’s Day Card
Don’t forget your Father’s Day cards! There are a few different ways to utilize our ‘Father’s Day Trophy Card’ printable. First you’ll need to print off our FREE Father’s Day Trophy Card printable found HERE. Next, follow one of the options below. If you have more than one kid each kid can select their own option.
Option #1 – Grab your ‘Father’s Day Trophy Card’ printable from the printer, dip your kids hand in paint and press it down in the middle of the trophy as shown in the picture. If your kid has smaller hands you can fill the trophy area with more than one handprint.
Option #2 – If you have more than one kid with smaller hands you can put both of their handprints in one trophy. Then once the paint is dry write the name of the kid under their handprint.
Option #3 – For kids who are older and know how to write, they can write their favorite memory or characteristic about their dad in the trophy.
Option #4 – If you hate paint like me you can either trace your kids handprint with a marker and color it in or have your kid color in the trophy.
Snacks
Dapper Dad Rice Krispy Treats
Either serve these up at your playdate or make them during the playdate with the kids and give to Dad on his special day. I used premade Rice Krispy treats but you can definitely make your own. Once you have your square Rice Krispy treat, take a white Airhead and cut strips (as shown below) to make the shirt collar. Next, pick any color Airhead for the tie. I cut a thicker strip than the collar and used my food scissors to cut the tip of the tie. Once that is done cut a small square to make the knot, as shown below. Finally lay it all out and press down to ensure the Airheads are stuck to the Rice Krispy treat. Voila, that’s it!
If you decide to make these during your playdate you can have all the Airhead pieces cut ahead of time and the kids can do the rest. They can even mix and match the tie and tie knot colors or decorate the tie with various precut Airhead pieces.
We hope you enjoy hosting your Father’s Day Craft playdate. Let us know in the comments, do you make your cards or prefer store bought?
Cheers!
